Description
Sapphire Care is currently seeking a qualified Personal Support Worker.

This is a front-line position responsible for the provision of trauma-informed care and support to a client living in their own home.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Health Care Aide (HCA)
  • Disability Support Worker (DSW)
  • Personal Support Worker
  • Social Worker

Required skills:


  • Formal Education: Some postsecondary education.
  • Ability to write and complete documentation and reporting
  • Proficient knowledge of English
  • First Aid and CPR training
  • Ability to perform compassionate and traumainformed support to individuals with disabilities

Preferred Experience/Training:


  • A minimum of 6 months' experience in providing support to adults with mental, behavioural, or developmental disabilities/challenges
  • Medication Administration training
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • Food Safety training and certification
  • Other relevant specializations and training

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:


  • Ability to confidently provide front line, face to face support to individuals with varying challenges
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond/remain calm in emotionally charged situations
  • Positive Attitude
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Must be able to identify issues, set priorities and implement an appropriate plan of action
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively

Other Required Items:


  • Must have a reliable car with personal liability insurance with a minimum coverage of two million ($2,000, and SEF44 Protection Endorsement

Job Types:
Part-time, Casual

Part-time hours: 20-30 per week


Salary:
$18.00-$20.00 per hour
