Community Ambassador Mary's Meals Canada
Organization Details Organization Name: Mary's Meals Canada Address: Calgary AB Website: Organizational Description: Mary's Meals provides a daily meal in a place of education for children living in some of the world's poorest communities, where hunger and poverty prevent children from gaining an education. The meal attracts children to the classroom, and the education that they receive can be their ladder out of poverty in the future. Currently, Mary's Meals Canada provides these meals to children living in Malawi, Africa, where the cost to feed a child a daily meal for one year is just $26.40. Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer Opportunity ID: 4297 Description of Duties: We have a range of fulfilling and fun opportunities to help you raise awareness of the work of Mary's Meals in your local area as a Community Ambassador.
Deciding to join our movement and become a Community Ambassador, you will be part of a group of passionate volunteers, you will join us as we grow our movement through local groups to motivate and inspire people in your local community to support our work.
As restrictions change across Canada, other key activities may include:
o Sharing our story with local community organizations, schools, churches, and faith
groups.
o Organizing fundraising events in your local area - bottle drives, bake sales, car wash,
clothing drive etc.
o Promoting Mary's Meals' fundraising campaigns in your community.
o Distributing and displaying promotional materials.
o Helping to generate support from businesses in your local area.
Gain experience as a volunteer
Students can obtain volunteer hours for school requirements
Have a place where you can create an experience where your unique passion, gifts and skills can be fully utilized
Your community will be engaged and learn more about the work of Mary's Meals
Become a Mary's Meals expert (with support from the team)
Your engagement and support of Mary's Meals' work and mission will change children's lives forever
What you can provide
