We offer design & production services to clients and have a range of products in the market such as AALINE, Canadiano, and the Bookseat, among others.

This position is particularly related to our AALINE product line which is focused on lighting and acoustic products.


Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled fabrication specialist with wood and metal working experience who is excited to integrate into our production team and be our shop & production manager.

The shop / production manager will ensure the efficient and timely production of our lighting products, communicate with the design and admin team, and maintain the highest standards of quality.

This position reports to the company director and works closely with the office/administrative manager.


Qualifications:


  • Handson experience working with wood and metals.
  • Project management and leadership skills.
  • An undergraduate degree or credential in design, fabrication, engineering, or a combination of education & relevant experience in related fields.
  • Strong team building and communication skills.
  • Excellent problemsolving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety standards.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work:

1.
Fabrication and Production

  • Guide the production team towards best practices.
  • Continually research and implement innovations in fabrication technologies.
  • Assist with fabrication and production as needed. [This position is not a desk job; it is 40% admin 60% handson.]
  • Supervise equipment maintenance and upkeep.
  • Manage shop maintenance schedule and delegate roles to a team of 3 fabrication specialists.
2.
Production Planning and Scheduling

  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize production efficiency.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials and information throughout the production process.
  • Lead operational logistics, including pickups, deliveries, and daily tasks.
3.
Quality Assurance

  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure all products meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any issues and continuously improve product quality.
4.
Team Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise production staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Provide training and support to enhance the skills and capabilities of the production team.
5.
Inventory Management

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
6.
Cost Management

  • Implement costeffective production strategies without compromising product quality.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
7.
Health and Safety Compliance

  • Ensure a safe working environment by implementing and enforcing safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for production staff.
8.
Continuous Improvement

  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance overall production efficiency.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months


Salary:
$60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
