Jackman Eye Institute is looking for a full time
Patient Educator in a busy office to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience for our patients undergoing eye treatments.

The focus is for our patients to feel welcomed, be comfortable and feel confident while receiving high-quality, life changing vision care.


What you will be doing:


  • Reviewing referrals that come from physicians
  • Collecting medical and family history
  • Reviewing history of presenting illness
  • Reviewing necessary testing with patients and assisting them with selecting the proper test
  • Printing invoices and collecting payments
  • Sending letters to referring physicians as needed
  • Maintain tracking sheets and monthly statistical reports
  • Coordinating medical care for patients
  • Receiving and processing approvals of surgery by medical directors
  • Planning, organizing and scheduling patients for surgery days
  • Discussing the type of postoperative vision care plans offered, and the benefits associated with
each procedure and scheduling

  • Explaining preoperative consent forms and paperwork clearly and accurately

What you will bring:


  • Previous experience in working in a medical clinical environment is an asset
  • Experience in customer service/client care role
  • Experience in a sales role or working in a oneonone setting with clients
  • Capable of multitasking and excellent sense of organization
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in a professional environment
