Research Manager Job Description
Position Term:1.0 FTE; 12 months

Location:
St. Paul's Hospital, Department of Anesthesiology
Hours: 40hr work week, Monday to Friday, daily start and end times may vary based on different study requirements. The position is primarily in-person, however some component of remote work can be negotiated.
Requirements:
- A healthcare degree (e.g. nursing, anesthesia assistant) that provides the skillset for monitoring for abnormal vital signs captured by study devices, comparing alerts from the study to standard of care monitoring at hospital (i.e. is the alert an artefact or real), and notifying the clinical team of potential issues.
- 5 years of experience working in research and/or clinical environments (familiarity with clinical environments is desired)
- Previous research training will be preferred, particularly for cohort studies.
Skills and Assets
- Development of a protocol
- Experience recruiting and consenting patients for research from a clinical environment
- Teaching patients devices and troubleshooting; collecting devices
- Clinical experience to monitor, evaluate, and report alert from study devices
- Experience performing data collection and data entry from hospital charts
- Experience with financial and personnel management
- Comfort with privacy and regulatory requirements for research
- Experience managing and supervising staff
- Coordinating with different partners (government, industry, and hospital) logistics
- Manuscript and report preparation
- Experience with:
- Database management or utilization
- REDCap
- RISe or other Research Ethics Board Application Platforms
- Workday
- Excel
- Basic understanding of data analysis and statistics is an asset
- Strong Communication skills written and verbal
- Effective Time Management and scheduling skills
Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract
Pay:
$65,057.25-$85,917.61 per year
