Job Functions

  • Administer employee benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance/AD&D, disability insurance, health savings accounts, COBRA, 401(k), and wellness programs.
  • Informs and guides employees on benefits matters regarding eligibility and coverage provisions.
  • Answers routine employee benefits questions and assists employees with utilization of employee selfservice system, online benefit enrollment and completion of forms.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and carriers to rectify issues, respond to inquiries and help ensure s a positive and seamless experience.
  • Maintains an accurate and consistent communication program for all benefit programs.
  • Assists with annual benefit open enrollment and wellness initiatives
  • Process life events to include data entry and providing assistance to employees
  • Provides administrative support to HR Manager and staff as directed
  • Process Medical Support Orders
  • Performs other duties as required

Education, Skills and Experience:


  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in Benefits Administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook) required.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and data entry preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, public officials and the general public.
  • Ability to manage, coordinate and prioritize multiple projects with mínimal supervision.
  • Must possess a high level of organizational skills and initiative.
  • Must possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing and with regard to proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be honest, truthful, and trustworthy and possess a high degree of personal integrity.
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative and office automation techniques.
  • Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment, including multiline telephone, facsimile (fax) machine, computer, printer, copier and calculator.
  • Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, drug screen and motor vehicle check.
  • An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements above.
