Job description:


To provide the best, prompt, and pleasant customer service, while assisting with the technical aspects of prescription dispensing, as well as to participate in the Pharmacy's upkeep and operations in accordance with Pharmacy Standards of Practice.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Customer Service:
Greet customers promptly and collect prescription information in accordance with Standards. Perform duties in order of priority according to the Role assigned on the Role Assignment Schedule. Refer all clinical inquiries to the pharmacist. Set realistic wait times for customers. Find and cash out prescriptions and any ancillary items. Ensure that customers who need counseling are referred to the Pharmacist. Control the cash register in the dispensary. Follow all confidentiality and privacy regulations.

Prepare and submit orders, with the exception of controlled substances and narcotics, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures; adjudicate third-party billing online and manage manual Third-Party Accounts; answer the phone and, if necessary, refer to a pharmacist; manage incoming faxes in accordance with Pharmacy Standards of Practice; assist pharmacist in coordinating call backs; accurately file completed documentation in accordance with Pharmacy Standards of Practice Prescription Workflow:
Perform data entry for new prescriptions and manage refill request processing Select medications to fill prescriptions in accordance with Pharmacy Standards of Practice Efficiently count or measure, package, and label prescriptions in accordance with Pharmacy Standards Accurately enter and maintain appropriate data within the applicable Pharmacy systems

Prior pharmacy experience is preferred. High school diploma or diploma from a pharmacy assistant-accredited course is preferred. Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and effective organizational skills

Salary:
$16.50-$20.00 per hour
