The Canadian Institute of Osteopathic Therapy (CIOT) in Calgary is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our institution as the Dean.

As the Dean, you will provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure the academic excellence and overall success of CIOT.

You will play a pivotal role in managing faculty, curriculum development, student outcomes, admissions processes, data management, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic planning to advance the mission and goals of CIOT.
  • Oversee all academic programs and ensure their alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements for osteopathic therapy.
  • Lead the curriculum development process, working closely with faculty and program coordinators to ensure highquality, relevant, and uptodate content.
  • Foster a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement within CIOT.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate faculty members to maintain a highly qualified and motivated instructional staff in collaborations with the academic manager.
  • Implement effective faculty development programs to enhance teaching methodologies and keep faculty members abreast of industry trends and best practices in osteopathic therapy.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards specific to ministry of advanced education, Alberta.
  • Manage the admissions process, including the development and implementation of effective recruitment strategies, admissions criteria, and enrollment targets.
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to streamline and enhance the admissions process, ensuring efficiency and a positive experience for prospective students.
  • Develop and maintain data management systems to effectively track and analyze student information, including enrollment, demographics, and outcomes.
  • Use data analysis to inform decisionmaking and drive improvements in student recruitment, retention, and success in the field of osteopathic therapy.
  • Oversee student support services, including academic advising, counseling, and career services, to promote student success and wellbeing in the context of osteopathic therapy education.
  • Monitor and analyze student outcomes and program performance, implementing strategies to improve retention rates and student success in the field of osteopathic therapy.
  • Develop and manage the academic budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to support CIOT's educational mission in osteopathic therapy.
  • Foster relationships with industry partners, employers, and professional organizations to enhance internship and job placement opportunities for students.
  • Represent CIOT at relevant conferences, meetings, and industry events focused on osteopathic therapy.
  • Stay current on trends, developments, and best practices in international education, admissions and student services
  • Provide reports and updates to senior management and participate in strategic planning discussions.

Requirements:


  • Master's or doctoral degree in education, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within higher education, preferably in an established career college
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and academic program management.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory standards specific to Ministry of Advanced Education, Alberta.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate faculty and staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in student recruitment, admissions, and retention strategies.
  • Experience in managing admissions processes and data management systems.
  • Budget management and financial acumen.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Familiarity with educational technologies and online learning platforms used in post secondary schools.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment in the college.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
