- Establishes and follows-up full project implementation including timing, concept, feasibility, design, specifications, construction and commissioning
- Maintains and upgrades PLC software
- Analyses, records and charts documentation required for maintenance records and projects
- Services, maintains, repairs, installs and tests new or existing equipment and verifies conformance to specifications
- Troubleshooting of process problems and complete quality improvements
- Deals extensively with vendors (both parts suppliers and equipment suppliers)
- Testing, repairing and calibrating electric or electronic components
- Carries out preventative maintenance procedures
- Prepares drawings, materials specifications to requisition
- Able to understand CSA-462 and/or NEMA 70-E
- Commitment to continuous improvement and work place safety
- Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts awareness and adherence
- Other duties as may be required
- Completion of a technical diploma program (2 years+) from an accredited college or university.
- Proven of record of PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens) or CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens)
- 5 years of automotive manufacturing experience
- 3 years experience with electronic control systems in a robotic welding or laser field or on CNC machine tool
