This role is responsible for the Purolator design, implementation, communication, and administration of compensation to support Purolator's strategic objectives, and utilize compensation expertise and HR experience to support and execute the management of Purolator's compensation structures (both Canada and U.S.).The consultant will be in charge of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) from the process beginning to the end of the bonus paid out including all activities regarding creating eligibility reports, building HR validation files, continuous following up with HRs for further clarities or missed information, building bonus calculation model and maintain the model, process cost/ scenario analysis, create payroll files, generate employees letters and communication kit for entire Canada non-union employees (around 2000 employees) as well as be responsible for creating and maintaining Clerical Bonus eligibility.


Responsibilities

  • Perform compensation function activities by utilizing compensation expertise and HR experience to support and execute the management of Purolator's compensation structures with a focus on a payforperformance philosophy.
  • Manage employee's offcycle salary increase process for assigned functions, and independently conduct salary analysis, including but not limited to, internal, external, and employee qualification analysis.
  • Present the recommendation to get approval and communicate the recommendation in logic and clear language to the HR team.
  • Manage both Canada and PI offcycle tracker, update model and tracker, monitor budget usage, send alerts to management when needed, and produce a quarterly dashboard.
  • Manage Compensation inbox, organize and answer inquiries, and assist in ERP compensation module setup, configuration, testing, golive, etc.
  • Responsible for Scholarship process and corporate with University Canada to ensure the selection and renewal process runs smoothly.
  • Support HRCC and Board of Director meetings conducted every quarter, responsible for material preparation for AIP payout and target and partial salary budget proposal.
  • Maintain a great relationship with the parent company Canada Post and other related functions and stakeholders, for example, HR Managers and HRBPs, Payroll, Finance, Internal Audit, Accounting, etc.
  • Participates in company projects and corporate HR initiatives and will provide analysis, consultation, and recommendations to corporate and field colleagues and clients.
  • Identify opportunities from daily or project work to make recommendations to management for improving function efficiency and bringing up the client's voice to management's attention with sound solutions or suggestions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, HR, or Finance related.
  • CCP designation is an asset
  • 3 years plus experience in the Compensation field.
  • Experience with SAP success factor is an asset.
  • Must have experience in process and deal with large data sets.
  • Must be attentively focused on detail.
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written
  • Ability to make sound judgment and suggestions independently to assigned work for example offcycle salary review and project works.
  • Ability to make decisions on some daily work and yearend activities in complying with company policy and practice without getting approval from the manager
  • Ability to process confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong sense of data protection.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to escalate complex and important cases/ issues to the next level and independently handle all pushbacks.
