Description
The I.T.Support Technician will provide remote and onsite user support for electronic devices such as laptops/desktops, mobile devices, video conferencing equipment, and printers.
The role will support the deployment of devices, asset management tracking, and will be an active member of the I.T.
Helpdesk team.Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite and remote support to users across several company locations throughout Canada.
- Assist with deployment, troubleshooting and maintenance of servers, network equipment, desktops, laptops, printers, VOIP phones, and smartphones (Apple & Android).
- Administration of user accounts, software access, and configuration changes.
- Keep accurate asset management and inventory (hardware & software) records.
- Manage desktops and laptops running Microsoft Windows and Apple MAC OS.
- Assist with upgrading computer systems, removing viruses/spyware, and maintaining the overall health of the company's infrastructure.
- I.T. onboarding and offboarding, and ongoing education of users.
- Work collaboratively with both technical and nontechnical staff.
- Regular usage of AS400 system to complete updates, maintenance routines and scheduled processes.
- Involvement in daily, monthly, and yearly I.T. data processing procedures.
Qualifications:
- Diploma/certificate in Computer System Technician, PC Support Technician, Technical Support Analysis, or relevant field.
- A minimum of 2 years of help desk, I.T. support related experience.
- Superior Microsoft Office skills with a focus on Excel and Access.
- Prior experience with data analysis and delivery.
- Familiarity with AS400 systems (BPCS), iSeries Servers and IBM Web Query.
- Experience in PC and Apple environments and proven abilities in deployment and troubleshooting.
- Detail oriented, highly organized, and reliable with proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to resolve complex technology and systemsrelated problems. Driven to learn, research and improve I.T. skillset.
- Provide excellent customer service, and resolve issues in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
- Experience in working with sensitive and confidential situations and information.
Physical Environment:
- Routine use of standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers.
- Required to regularly sit or stand for long periods, walk, bend or reach.
- Occasionally required to lift, push, or pull.
Travel:
- Some travel may be required throughout Canada as needed.
