Ontario Centre of Innovation ("OCI") is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly organized individual in a supporting role to the HR department.

This role reports to the Director, of Human Resources. This role includes payroll processing and all other administration duties.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to work as part of a small team, whilst independently and proactively completing tasks.

Excellent organization, communication and IT skills, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential requirements. The nature of this role requires a tactful and confidential approach.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Support the HR department in all administrative tasks and enforce OCI's policies
  • Process independently the full cycle of payroll using ADP Workforce Now
  • Help with newhire procedures, including creating new employee files, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
  • Organize, maintain, and update employee data on ADP platform as required
  • Provide administrative support during employee performance reviews
  • Support all HR initiatives including but not limited to training and events
  • Previous knowledge in the field of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion is required, and preferably a proven track record of working in this area.
  • Foster positive employee relations and work to solve any employee issues that surface
  • Make sure all employee records are filed correctly and kept private and confidential
  • Abide by OCI'senforced HR processes and current employment laws and regulations
  • Under the leadership of the HR Director, be a vital source of human resources information, answering any questions employees may have
  • Other ad hoc duties as required by the HR department, including participation in project work.
  • Any other duties as required and assigned.

Human Resources Coordinator Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Comfortable working in a highly visible role
  • Highly organized and efficient; skilled at multitasking
  • 12 years experience in processing payroll independently. Experience in ADP Workforce Now
- an asset

  • Good timemanagement skills
  • Positive and personable demeanor
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to follow directions accurately and without hesitation
  • Willing to take initiative and work independently when needed
  • Professional integrity and sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred
  • 12 years of relevant experience in HR work
  • Strong computer skills including using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Reliable and personable; enjoy working with a diverse range of individuals and ensuring employee requirements and needs are met first
