Crossing All Bridges Learning Centre exists to create and sustain, through compassionate dedicated staff, programs to develop life skills in participants, social and welcoming environments in which meaningful relationships and friendships are developed, and inclusive community experiences.


The Shredding Barriers Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations of Shredding Barriers including but not limited to; delivering excellent customer service, working with existing and new suppliers/customers, overseeing the accounts receivable/payable, and accommodating employees to learn and perform their job duties as well as help with the interpersonal skills necessary in the workplace.

Through job training, supervision, and monitoring of the individual's work performances, the Shredding Barriers Coordinator will ensure that employees are performing the duties as established by Shredding Barriers.


The Shredding Barriers Coordinator is a key part of the organization, which includes the Board of Directors, Executive Director, Supervisor of Operations, Social Enterprise, and Fund Development Coordinator.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations of Crossing All Bridges Learning Centre's social enterprises as needed, including but not limited to delivering excellent customer service support, working with existing and new suppliers, and supporting the development of internal systems which includes overseeing the accounts receivable/payable.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing and services.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management.
  • Overseeing the established training program for employees of Shredding Barriers, CABLC's social enterprise. This position is responsible for assisting with job coaching and ongoing employee training including ongoing evaluation of employee's abilities; ensuring proper use of shredding machinery, and ensuring all processes and procedures are followed accurately and safely.
  • Responsible for all duties related to the safe operation of Shredding Barriers occupational health & safety, use and maintenance of equipment including the safety and maintenance of the Shredding Barriers vehicle and ensuring proper licensing and insurance is up to date.
  • Oversee the recruitment and training for new Shredding Barriers employees.
  • Ensure consistency of quality, accountability, and high standards of CABLC/Shredding Barriers.
  • Ensure that consistent and meaningful evaluation of all services is carried out to assess their impact and success and to make needed changes and improvements as indicated.
  • Assist employees with customer pick-ups and console delivery and assist with shredding on an ongoing basis to maintain productivity.
  • Maintain accurate records/documentation on job coaching provided to each employee.
  • Maintain Shredding Barriers presence on all social media platforms.
  • Document and implement any action necessary to overcome employment barriers in Shredding Barriers
  • Work with the Supervisor of Operations and Program Coordinator to maintain smooth crossovers between Shredding Barriers and the existing Crossing All Bridges Learning Centre programs.
  • Ensure comprehensive clean-up of Shredding Barriers is completed at the end of each day (e.g., sanitizing all common surfaces, sweeping, and dusting).

Organization Management

  • To be an active participant on the CABLC staff team and to keep updated and organized with ongoing projects and tasks.

Other Related Duties

  • To attend all mandatory training and self development courses aimed at enhancing the efficiency of Shredding Barriers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Education, Physical Requirements, and Experience

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • A capacity to work collaboratively.
  • Capable of working with diverse populations.
  • Non-judgmental.
  • Experience working with individuals living with varying abilities would be an asset.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Social media proficiency including Instagram and Facebook.
  • Hold a current certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Must obtain a police clearance including vulnerable sector screening.
  • Must have a class 'G' driver's license.

Salary:
From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
