GENERAL DESCRIPTION


To make all batches (cosmetic, natural health products - creams, lotions, serums, salves, gels, foams) assigned to meet laboratory standards and customer approvals.

To work safely and to follow GMP procedures.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews product formula sheets and secures ingredients from the warehouse.
  • Weighs all raw materials necessary to manufacture a batch. Must be able to accurately measure all raw materials necessary to manufacture the batch using a variety of measure equipment, e.g. scales, graduates, etc.
  • Compounds batch in accordance with formulae provided, working with customers and recommending changes to procedures to improve the process of quality of the product.
  • Takes samples to the laboratory for approval.
  • Delivers the finished batches to the floor for assembly requirements.
  • Completes the formula worksheet with information regarding the run and signs and returns the worksheet with samples to the laboratory.
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment. Must be able to follow exact GMP cleaning and sanitation procedures on all manufacturing equipment and work areas.
  • Maintains a tank log book, with information such as products produced, code numbers, when used and when sanitized. Properly fills out, records and keeps up to date all usage logs regarding equipment used in manufacturing a batch. Must be able to complete all documentation pertaining to yields, weights, measure tank logs, sanitation and other GMP's.
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment as required. Must be able to follow exact GMP cleaning and sanitation procedures on all manufacturing equipment and work areas. Removes empty containers to appropriate disposal location. Cleans and sanitizes floors and equipment such as manufacturing and holding tanks, and returns equipment to appropriate locations in work areas.
  • Maintains a safe, clean and sanitized work station.
  • Prepares the compounding area for the shift, setting up pumps and other equipment.
  • Completes compounding jobs in process and pumps product to the holding tanks.
  • Compounds product for internal use in accordance with formulae provided by the supervisor.
  • Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Standards and follows plant policies and procedures.
  • Works in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations.
  • Uses or wears the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required by the supervisor or MSDS to be used or worn.
  • Reports to the supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which you are aware and which may endanger yourself or another worker.
  • Reports to the supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which you know.
  • Shall not remove or make ineffective any protection device requirement by the regulations or by your employer, without providing an adequate temporary protective device and when the need for removing or making ineffective the protective device has ceased, the protective device shall be replaced immediately.
  • Shall not use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger yourself or any other worker.

Salary:
$24.00-$28.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cambridge, ON N3C 0A5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:


  • Manufacturing: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Forklift Licence (preferred)
