Clinical Support Worker - Kamloops, BC Job description
Sage Resolutions is currently hiring Residential Support Workers to work with children/youth.
We are hiring individuals with training and experience working with ASD, ADHD, and ODD, and knowledge of how to respond effectively to associated behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
To provide support and help facilitate care coordination;
Maintain medical administration plans, reports, and daily documentation;
Work collaboratively with the care team to develop Behaviour Support Plans;
Follow Behaviour Support Plans;
Identify behaviour and utilize relevant treatment strategies;
Ability to work with youth with low to mode;
Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally with colleagues, managers, clients, etc.;
Model and work with the client to develop emotion regulation skills and healthy coping strategies.
Build positive relationships with the client;
Engage with client in physical and recreational activities;
Engage collaboratively with the client's support team by listening to and effectively interpreting the client needs and concerns;
Work within the legal and ethical framework;
Provide first aid as needed and refer patients to medical care as the Clinical Team deems necessary;
Provide written reports to the Program Manager as required;
Hours:
flexibility required - hours must meet operational requirements and client's needs;
Provide transportation for client's to attend appointments and other activities;
Provide general day-to-day care, including medication administration, meal preparation, and cleaning the home;
Minimum Requirements:
Social Service Worker Diploma, Long Term Care certificate, Licensed Practical Nurse, CEA degree, or equivalent in experience and training;
CPI or Mandt Certification;
Current First Aid Certification;
Knowledge or experience with developmental disorders, addictions, mental health, cultural awareness.
Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License;
Must have access to a personal vehicle maintained in accordance with provincial safety standards;
Clear driver's abstract;Clear criminal record check;
Hours:
flexibility required - must be able to work up to three 24 hr-shifts per week or hour shifts.
Hours must meet operational requirements and children's needs.
Skills:
Ability to work with mínimal supervision;
Ability to understand and adhere to the company policies;
Know when to seek appropriate supervision;
Detail/Task-oriented to ensure that all procedures are followed;
Collaborative;
Care and compassion for individuals with moderate to severe behavior and/or developmental disorders;
Basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel) required;
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training is required;
Knowledge of Postitive Behaviour Support is an asset;
Excellent interpersonal skills;
Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Oppositional Defiance Disorder;

Pay:
$576 per 24 hour shift($24/hour); plus extended health benefits package for full time positions, recreation, food, transportation allowance
