We currently have a
Casual opportunity for a
Customer Experience Leader in the
Sunnybrook Gift Shops & Retail Vendors Department at our
Bayview and Holland Campus.

**Hours of Work: Weekday:
Days ad Evenings; 4 to 8 hours, As per schedule

Alternating Weekend:
Days; 4 to 8 hours, As per schedule

This is a Casual position and requires flexibility to work days, evenings, and some weekends. The position rotates between the gifts shops located at the Bayview and Holland sites.


Summary of Duties:


  • Meet or exceed sales goals by providing exceptional service to all customers, suppliers, vendors, volunteers, and hospital staff
  • Use a POS system, accurately process cash and card transactions, balance cash register for shift and total day
  • Create and maintain displays to drive sales and provide a visually attractive shopping experience
  • Receive, price, and merchandise retail goods in a timely and efficient manner
  • Prepare online and telephone orders for delivery

  • Provide leadership, support, and guidance to gift shop volunteers
  • Strive for excellence in all areas of retail operations
  • Contribute to the success of a large and vibrant retail operation by playing a key role in raising funds for patient
- comfort & care through the operation of a successful hospital gift shop

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Summary of Duties:


  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a retail environment
  • Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to all policies and procedures and maintain a safe workplace
  • Demonstrated superior retail sales and customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience and interest in retail merchandising
  • Interest in and awareness of fashion and décor trends
  • Ability to accurately handle cash and card transactions, and balance the shift/day
  • Ability to deal with multiple and conflicting priorities
  • Ability to work as team member in a busy environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office and POS systems
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Previous experience working with volunteers an asset
  • Ability to work at two locations; Bayview & Lawrence and Yonge & Wellesley
  • Ability to work days, evenings, weekends
  • Ability to work standing for full days, lift boxes, and climb ladders
