We are seeking a Part-Time Pedorthist Assistant to join our busy orthotic lab in Waterloo.

Our lab is part of The Foot Clinic Group (Waterloo Foot Clinic, Waterloo Foot Clinic - Uptown, Royal City Foot Clinic, and Tri-City Foot Clinic) and is located within the Waterloo Foot Clinic - Uptown location.

Availability for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday is ideal but we can be flexible

Other shifts as needed:
covering vacation, sick days, lab needs, etc.


DAY TO DAY:


  • Assist with primary Pedorthic services, such services can include but are not limited to, shadowing assessments, footwear modification, and other products and services as may be added from time to time.
  • Assist with producing, refurbishing, modifying, and fitting orthotics and other aids. Use of scissors, knives, grinders, ovens, miller, dremel, drills, band saw, and vacuum press.
  • Able to carry boxes of materials as needed.
  • Comfortable using glues and thinners, as well as properly using protective equipment.
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of all equipment.
  • Make referrals to internal and external services and advocate on behalf of clients as appropriate.
  • Maintain and input, accurate and up-to-date clinical notes in accordance with the business' documentation and record keeping and filing requirements.
  • Participate in meetings and committee work as appropriate to support both service delivery and business goals.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on data and relevant information and participate in research as determined by the business.
  • Work from a Social Determinants of Health perspective to improve health outcomes for individual clients and/or for the development of community health and well-being, and to reduce health inequities.
  • Deliver the services individually and collaboratively in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives and activities.
  • Deliver the services in a manner that preserves privacy and confidentiality.
  • Deliver the services in a manner that ensures client safety and minimizes risk to clients, staff, and the office setting.

SUPPORT:


  • Share needed information with others in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Together with the Owner, Operations Manager, HR Manager, and staff conceive, develop, and implement new services.
  • Act as a mentor to all staff
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Be self-directed and able to work both in groups, and independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience and/or education in clinical roles/orthotic labs are an asset. We offer a welcoming work environment and opportunity for growth and development. Please note this position requires long periods of being on your feet as well as some lifting.

From $17.55 per hour
