Who we are ?
La Fédération des coopératives du Nouveau-Québec is owned by its fourteen member co-ops in the Inuit communities of Nunavik.

FCNQ was established in 1967 to provide the rapidly growing cooperative movement with more effective powers and services to help attain their vision "Atautsikut" Together—working to develop as a people, leaving none behind.


Responsibilities:


  • Act as a resource person for employees on various human resources topics, and answer questions regarding social benefits and internal policies;
  • Advise, analyze and intervene in human resources matters (work climate, labour relations, disciplinary management, support for managing team performance and attendance at work, interpretation of laws, etc.);
  • Maintain close contact with managers in order to be aware of internal issues;
  • Support managers by establishing diagnoses and proposing HR strategies aligned with objectives and priorities according to the issues raised;
  • Propose disciplinary measures in the event of employee misconduct and ensure communication of policies as well as applicable legislation in terms of disciplinary measures;
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring projects in organizational development (help with the design and implementation of processes, policies and procedures, etc.);
  • Support internal clients in performance management and employee development;
  • Coordinate the complete staffing cycle and ensure the integration of new employees, and maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS);
  • Ensure the administrative aspect resulting from the management of human resources and social benefits (updating employee files, press releases, registrations and modifications to the group insurance program, etc.);
  • Enter data into computer systems during hiring, departures, and change requests;
  • Prepare employment confirmations for employees and draft retirement letters;
  • Write job descriptions with department managers and keep them up to date;
  • Ensure coordination with the payroll team for updating employee files and offer support in the interpretation of collective agreements;
  • Collaborate in the preparation of labour relations arbitration files;
  • Contribute to requests and surveys from external partners, including monitoring Inuit recruitment initiatives;
  • Work in collaboration with the Health and Safety team in disability files (CNESST and Group Insurance);
  • Any other related tasks requested by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements:


  • Minimum of three years of relevant human resources experience;
  • University degree in human resources management, industrial relations, or an equivalent field of study;
  • Be a member of the Order of Human Resources Advisors of Quebec, an asset;
  • Must be able to communicate in French and English, both orally and in writing;
  • Knowledge of the Quebec Labor Standards Act;
  • Excellent judgment, professional ethics and respect for confidentiality;
  • Sense of organization, thoroughness and team spirit;
  • Superior communication skills;
  • Sense of discretion, diplomacy and courtesy;
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
