Job Title:
Program Manager
About Us:
Join the Victoria Hills Neighbourhood Association (VHNA), where we are committed to community growth, engagement, and financial transparency. We are currently in search of a dedicated Bookkeeper to handle our finances.
The VHNA is looking to contract a part-time Program Manager for one year to oversee all facets of scheduling, coordinating and overseeing programs.
This contract offers up to 30 hours per month depending on the demands of VHNA programming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, coordinate and recommend General Programming that could be offered through the
VHNA to meet community needs:
- Program planning, scheduling and coordinating.
- Program evaluation i.e. onsite evaluation, instructor feedback, etc.
- On call as first point of contact for instructors, volunteers and partners
- Recruit, interview and contract instructors to lead programs
- Working in cooperation with the City of Kitchener Facility staff:
- Book space for programs
- Ensure templates for online (ActiveNet) registration are complete and on time and accurately
- Cancel or add programs as per VHNA guidelines
- Act as liaison on behalf of VHNA and instructors
- Ensure program supplies/equipment are available to meet program needs
- Administrative Duties include:
- Preparation of report for the VHNA Board, related to Programs
- Record keeping following VHNA protocols
- Tracking of files (i.e. Instructors, payroll, list, invoicing etc)
- Prepare/Design of program flyers as needed
- Program Analysis (financial) i.e. Programs, fees, revenue, etc.
- Attend Board meetings every month (mandatory)
- Attend Program Committee Meetings (as needed)
- Responding to any program concerns
- Other duties may include: Volunteer recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation.
Skills:
- Experience working in a communitybased setting required.
- Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
- Exceptional organizational abilities with strong detailorientation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the community to achieve desired results.
- Undergraduate degree, diploma or certificate in Recreation and Leisure and/or training or experience in program or event management will be considered an asset
Compensation:
- $28-32/hour
