Duties and Responsibilities
The position is responsible for performing various duties within the shop, including, but not limited to the following:

Assembly of cabinets and parts to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, clamps, etc.
Verifying dimensions and checking the quality or fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications.
Setting up and operating a variety of woodworking machines and equipment, including, but not limited to power saws, table saws, sanders to cut, mold or shape parts from wood stock.
Utilizing various hand tools to fabricate and assemble cabinetry and components.
Installing cabinet hardware, including hinges, handles, catches, drawer pulls, etc.
Cutting, trimming and shaping component parts of joints to ensure a snug fit.
Spraying contact and laying up plastic laminate.
Boring holes for insertion of screws or dowels by hand or using a boring machine.
Assisting installation and delivery teams as necessary.
Assisting the finishing and machining departments as necessary.
Maintaining a clean and tidy work area that is hazard free.
Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications

The successful applicant will have the following:

Experience_
Experience working in cabinet making or woodworking considered an asset.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment considered an asset.
Education/Licenses/Certificates_
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent required.
Valid driver's license required.
Knowledge_
Knowledge of cabinet making principles, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of the woodworking industry, including processes, procedures, equipment and machinery.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures relating to woodworking.
Skills_
Effective math and geometry skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Abilities_
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
Ability to effectively work with other employees in a team environment.

Working Conditions

Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to loading dock.
Manual dexterity to use woodworking equipment and machinery.
Must be able to stand, bend, twist and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
Overtime and travel may be required.

Compensation and Benefits

Fulltime, position (Monday to Friday, 44 hours per week).

$21.00-$26.00 per hour
