    Description

    The Opportunity

    Reporting to the Manager of Facility Planning West, this position continues to build knowledge of US Natural Gas (USNG) Commercial Operations through on the job assignments, working under minimal supervision and guidance from senior level engineers.

    What you'll do

    • Perform system hydraulics analysis of existing assets to establish long and short-term pipeline capacities
    • Determine and approve firm pipeline capacity for a subset of USNG assets and evaluate firm capacity impact of scheduled and unscheduled facility outages
    • Develop hydraulic models and conduct data analysis to support facilities improvement programs and emission reduction initiatives
    • Provide support to FERC regulatory filings associated to the facilities under direct responsibility
    • Support Gas Control and other stakeholders in the daily operations of multiple pipeline segments with different requirements, working toward a broad system and business approach to proposed solutions
    • Work with internal stakeholders and customers to plan, execute, and communicate maintenance and project activities affecting pipeline operations
    • Formulating design solutions in accordance with established commercial objectives, contracts, tariffs, and US regulatory compliance
    • Use hydraulic pipeline simulation software, historical data, and operational experience to provide input during project design and execution
    • Create and support data analysis tools and automate processes to improve reporting, optimize capacity, and improve efficiency

    Minimum qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum or Civil Engineering degree required from an ABET accredited university
    • 2-4 years of applicable practical Engineering experience
    • Experience with fluid flow simulation packages (i.e. DNVGL Synergi Gas, Gregg Engineering or ProMax)

    Preferred qualifications

    • Strong analytical skills, including ability to recognize, analyze and recommend creative solutions to problems and issues
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Office products
    • Intermediate knowledge of a programming language (i.e. Python)
    • Strong communication skills to be able to work in a team environment and interact with both internal and external stakeholders
    • General understanding of US natural gas industry operations
