DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provides administrative, organizational and secretarial support to physician
  • Drafts and types correspondence and reports; maintains schedule; answers the telephone; sorts and sends mail; organizes and maintains files, orders supplies.
  • Books diagnostic tests, surgical procedures and admissions for patients and prepares computerized OHIP billing submissions/ accounts receivable and payables.
  • Organizes and coordinates multiple research projects including monitoring of budgets, overseeing staffing activities, arranging meetings.
  • Types and provides assistance with the preparation of research documents, teaching materials for seminars and lectures, and grant proposals/publications
  • Performs general secretarial duties including answering the telephone, scheduling appointments arranging meetings, receiving patients
  • Types patient correspondence, letters and prepares manuscripts, preparation of slides and manuscriptyt presentationsP>Prepares OHIP billing
  • Books proceduires for patients and descusses preparation and details of procedure with patients
  • Performs other clerical duties including filing, photocopying etc
  • Performs other duties and required.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Administration program
  • Medical terminology certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years previous medical secretarial and administrative experience required.
  • Demonstrated excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, GrouWise, OHIP billing, internet, etc).
  • Must be able to work independently and problem solve.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone and administrative skills.
  • Must have an excellent attendance record.
