    Description

    DevOps Engineer

    The Select Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer for our leading telecommunication client in Canada. We are currently seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our clients growing team and play a key role in shaping the future of their technology landscape.

    DevOps Engineer requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in DevOps, with a strong background in build automation, CI/CD, and automation.
    • Experience working on Nokia products including: HSS, One-NDS, SDL
    • Extensive hands-on experience with building, deploying, and managing applications and software on Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments.
    • Proficiency in Kubernetes, including strong experience with Helm Chart for packaging and managing Kubernetes applications.
    • Ability to deploy and manage databases within a containerized environment.
    • Experience working with cloud/virtualization technologies and management, particularly in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) OR Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • Proficiency in automation scripting with Bash or Shell.
    • Knowledge, skills, and abilities to deploy OpenShift Container Platform in both public (GKE) and private cloud environments.
    • Strong proficiency in Bash scripting for Linux.
    • Proven ability to take initiative and drive projects to completion, demonstrating a proactive and results-oriented approach.
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to devise innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

    DevOps Engineer responsibilities:

    • Design, implementation, and maintenance of robust CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth and efficient software delivery processes.
    • Develop and implement strategies for automating build, deployment, and infrastructure management tasks to improve efficiency and scalability.
    • Utilize strong Kubernetes expertise to architect and manage containerized environments, leveraging Helm Chart for application packaging and deployment.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and manage databases within containerized environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
    • Drive the adoption of best practices for cloud/virtualization technologies, particularly in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and OpenShift.
