Position Overview:


Pretium Packaging is a worldwide manufacturer of blow-molded plastic bottles/containers and currently has an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician in our Surrey, BC facility.


This position will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours a week primarily on 1st shift. You must have the availability to work any shift/day, including weekends, to support our 24/7 location.

Training will be on day shift with the Maintenance Manager and tenured Maintenance technicians.

Responsibilities:


  • Perform repairs on production machines and/or equipment when a malfunction has been detected. May discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem and repair the machine.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
  • Perform machine installations/moves and building maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain machinery, equipment and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing and/or oiling to ensure optimum working order.
  • Maintains and makes routine repairs to electrically powered equipment and appliances according to manager and/or equipment service manuals.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and makes repairs to heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment according to instructions such as replacing belts on motors, changing filters, bearings, etc.
  • Performs scheduled PM's and visually inspect and test assigned machines and equipment for proper functionality.
  • On a daily basis, receives assigned work order to complete on equipment.
  • Performs minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light bulbs and fuses.
  • May be required to order requisition parts as needed.
  • Develop, coordinate and track project list activities.
  • Ensures that a high level of safety is adhered to at all times on and off the production floor.
  • Follow Plant specified job specification and task list.
  • Must adhere to all required PPE; conducts him/herself in a safe manner.

Education, Experience, & Qualifications:


  • 3+ years of experience and Red Seal Millwright OR 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience with machine maintenance and production equipment repairs.
  • Extensive knowledge in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanics, and programmable controllers.
  • Experience maintaining blow molding machines.

Pay:
$85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
