Position Summary
Reporting into the Manager, Mortgage Operations, our Mortgage Operations Specialist is a proactive team player, who supports Originations by providing excellent customer service for the appraisal and income review function. Clear communicators with an eye for detail and accuracy, this role protects the company from risk by Bank policies. Strong Mortgage Operations Specialists will build a solid repertoire for knowledge and skills that can be used for future opportunities within Originations.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
· Communicate effectively both verbally and written, to internal and external stakeholders (including appraisers, employers) to ensure timely accurate results
· Keep accurate reports to help minimize and identify fraud
· Maintain and utilize reports to track and manage deals in pipeline, be responsible for meeting document review timelines (SLAs)
· Manage and maintain condition management
· Update the CRR/AML Score Card on a regular, timely basis
· Strict adherence to all Bank, business area and AML/ATF policies and procedures
· Review and approve residential appraisals according to HTB's risk appetite and policies
· Coordinate with Appraisers/Solidifi when documents are incomplete, or additional information is required
· Ensure that Quality Assurance requirements, Compliance and Risk review queries are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner
· Conduct income document analysis and calculations to ensure the applicant's income can be confirmed; Including submitting income to Equifax for review
· Maintain operational excellence, using all available resources, escalating when necessary, to maximize efficiencies and provide quick turnaround times
Degrees, Diplomas & Certifications:
· The position requires undergraduate or graduate degree in related field
Years and Range of Experience Required to Perform the Job:
· The position requires at least 2 years' experience in a Mortgage Administration, Operations, or a similar financial services role
· You must be bilingual in English and French, comfortably communicating verbally and written
