- Perform thorough site investigations for hazardous materials such as asbestos, mold, mercury, PCBs, and lead
- Collect and interpret various building material samples, air samples, and perform Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) analysis
- Engage in on-site fieldwork, overseeing remediation activities and conducting site visits
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors involved in remediation efforts
- Compile comprehensive technical reports detailing findings and recommendations
- Effectively manage project timelines and resources
- Foster clear communication with clients and subcontractors, prioritizing health, safety, and hygiene concerns
- Cultivate and sustain positive client relationships through attentive service and professionalism
- Overall, the role of a Project Technologist involves a balance of office work, fieldwork, analysis, communication, and project management, with each day bringing new opportunities to contribute to the success of various projects.
- College diploma in Environmental, Construction or Architectural Technology, or Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Engineering or equivalent
- Experience with building construction or hazardous materials is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Self-directed and mature
- Excellent organizational skills
- High attention to detail
- Must be able to read technical specifications, drawings and reports
- Valid driver's license, insurance and a personal vehicle required
- Availability to travel to clients' sites (short-term work-related travel)
- Availability to work outside of core business hours
- Availability to work occasional weekends

Today is the day to boost your career Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist or a Senior Project Technologist to join our Hazardous Materials team in our Hamilton office.
Reporting to the Operations Manager/Team Lead, the Project Technologist will conduct effective worker exposure and workplace monitoring, safety inspections and audits. You will assist in developing various types of hygiene, health and safety documentation, prepare technical reports and liaise with clients to ensure their needs and goals are met.
