Responsibilities:


The Sourcing and Costing Analyst reporting to the Procurement Supervisor is responsible for sourcing, issuing RFQ and RFPs, selecting acceptable quotations, negotiating with suppliers and preparing customer proposals for existing and new products.


  • Source product and issue RFPs and RFQs
  • Analyze quotations selecting most cost effective option
  • Manage vendor relationships including costing, delivery terms, and other related metrics to ensure maximum profitability and competitive costs
  • Prepare proposals for customer requirements
  • Maintain and control vendor files as they relate to cost and specifications
  • Actively participate and engage in continuous improvement strategies and cost reduction initiatives
  • Perform regular cost analysis on new & existing items to ensure our pricing is competitive & profitable
  • Work closely with Sales Reps, Customer Service, Buyers and Internal customers/stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Operations team to ensure cost estimates are aligned with Operational capabilities
  • Ensure ownership and responsibility is taken for all quoting requirements
  • Prepare reports for sales and management
  • Ability to work core business hours of 8:00am 5:00pm Eastern standard time Monday through Friday
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

You are a highly motivated, customer-oriented Sourcing and Costing Analyst who enjoys a fast-paced and exciting challenge. You are organized, analytical and detailed oriented with previous sourcing and quoting experience, preferably in the Distribution Industry.

  • Some post secondary technical training from an accredited institution or 2 years experience in sourcing and estimating. Experience in packaging or redistribution would be an asset
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Excellent analytical, interpretive, and problemsolving skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication/documentation skills
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and schedule priorities
  • Selfmotivated, detail oriented and the ability to process confidential and/or controlled information
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, previously ERP system experience would be an asset
  • Excellent organization and planning skills with ability to perform multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously with little direction
