Project Manager
Hiring:
Permanent Position, Full-time (35-40hrs/week)

Biologica is a growing family-owned and operated Canadian aquatic biomonitoring company, located in Victoria, BC.
We are a close-knit team of biologists and technicians whose primary focus is the identifcation of organisms (mainly invertebrates and algae) collected from a variety of aquatic habitats (freshwater and marine) in support of environmental monitoring initiatives.

The Project Manager will play a crucial leadership role at Biologica, and will be a key collaborator for the CEO and Management Team.
As part of the leadership team, they will be required to be strategic, transparent, and committed to the continual improvement of the business.
In addition, they should have a meticulous attention to detail, have high standards of customer service, and demonstrate precision with the English language.
They must be highly organized and adaptable.
Duties of the Project Manager will facilicate our goal of delivering timely and accurate data to our clients by providing meticulous end-to-end management of our laboratory projects.
This includes Sales and Project planning; Assisting with capacity projections and scheduling; Relaying project instructions to the laboratory; Oversight of project progress and deadline management; Critical review of data files; and end-project wrap up including financial review.
The Project Manager will provide mentorship to staff, including the Project Coordinator, Data Analyst, and the laboratory team. This position requires close and daily collaboration with a close-knit management team.Additional responsibilities, not limited to:
- Client communications regarding upcoming and inprogress projects;
- Preparation of proposals and other written materials;
- Ensuring client needs are met by anticipating and discussing issues and options;
- Preparation of quotes and/or project plans through discussion of project requirements with clients;
- Approval of invoices
- Monitor project budgets.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- PhD or MSc degree in Biology, BSc with research and work experience may be considered.
- Data management
- Minimum 3 years of experience with duties of project management
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently, and multitask while maintaining timelines
- Experience collaborating with a leadership team
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the position
- A proven selfstarter who takes initiative and thrives in a fastpaced environment, and find new ways to contribute and innovate
