Reporting to the Director, Clinical Quality & Patient Safety, the

Managing Consultant, Quality Improvement & Patient Safety is an integral member of the

Clinical Quality & Patient Safety Management Team who leads, directs, manages and supervises the unit based quality improvement team (tQI) in the design, implementation and evaluation of togetherQI in Fraser Health long-term care.

This full time position will be based at our Central City Office in Surrey, B.C.

  • Leading the implementation of systems and participating in the development and integration of quality improvement methodologies and learning tools to ensure effective complaint management processes
  • Participating in the evaluation of Fraser Health's clinical patient safety processes; analyzing data, compiling information and preparing reports for submission via the appropriate channels to bodies such as the FH Board/Site and Program Health Quality Operations Management Committees, and provincial groups based on evaluation of impact to client outcomes and organizational risk.
  • Serving as a resource and liaison by providing expertise to a variety of shareholders across the network.

Detailed Overview:

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

As a member of the Clinical Quality & Patient Safety Management Team, the Managing Consultant participates in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement and patient safety initiatives throughout Fraser Health, and provides leadership, direction and supervision to Quality and Patient Safety personnel within the department.


Serves as a resource and liaison to quality improvement activities by providing quality improvement expertise; ensures alignment and coordination of local QI activities and initiatives with Fraser Health priorities.


Responsibilities:


  • Participates in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of operational goals of the Quality Improvement Program to ensure alignment with Fraser Health's strategic plan.
  • Develops and maintains an effective quality improvement structure and network that supports the achievement of the operational and educational goals of the Quality Improvement Program. Identifies and communicates emerging trends and/or new quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within Fraser Health; evaluates opportunities to spread successes throughout the organization.
