This position will require the successful incumbent to provide proof of co-op eligibility, a transcript and tax credit form(s) from their school's co-op department.

Job Summary:


Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Asset Management, this co-op position will support activities related to Public Works infrastructure asset renewal planning and capital budgeting.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Assist Asset Management staff with capital budget program planning support related to development and state of good repair (SOGR) capital program for municipal Water, Wastewater, Roads, Storm and Solid Waste Management Services.
  • Engage and liaise with Capital Project Managers to obtain project status updates, present progress reports and trends, including and not limited to gap analysis and process improvement initiatives.
  • Be a part of an exciting and evolving asset management program and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to manage information and report Public Works metrics effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities, multitask, and communication through various media is important in this position, as is attention to detail.
  • Work as part of team, with the support of three (3) other students who will work alongside one another and be a key resource to train and onboard new students
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:


Essential

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil/or equivalent Engineering program, Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) program, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Environmental Sciences, Computer sciences or Geomatics program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience in performing statistical analytics with strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work independently and within a team.

Preferred

  • General knowledge of finance and project management concepts and terminology.
  • A general understanding of planning, design, construction, contract administration and operations of municipal infrastructure.
