Director of Finance - Greater Toronto Area, Canada - Magnet Search Group Inc.

Magnet is helping our client, look for a committed and experience Director of Finance to be based in our Toronto office. This role will provide oversight and leadership to the performance of our accounting teams across all company locations.

Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility for all accounting-related aspects of the business
• Hire, train and manage the Project Accountants in each of our locations
• Support all locations as it relates to day-to-day accounting issues, monthly financial statements and bank reconciliations, and year-end reporting
• Monthly reporting into the C.F.O. of our publicly-traded parent company
• Control cash flow and collections
• Monitor monthly inventory counts by Project Managers
• Review and approve staff expense reports on a monthly basis
• Facilitate a weekly accounting meeting with Project Accountants
• Ensure all accounting processes and controls are developed, communicated and followed
• Overnight travel is required U.S (estimated 2 – 3 nights/month)

What You'll Bring:

• Accounting designation (must have)
• University degree
• 4+ years of experience in an accounting managerial role
• Leadership & ability to motivate staff in remote offices
• Experience in job costing/budgeting
• Ability to delegate work to Project Accountants while still ensuring high-quality work product
• Solid work ethic and long-term commitment to the company
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
• Strong decision-making and problem solving capabilities
• Highly organized
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
