Position:
Environmental Services Manager (ESM)

Long-term Care Home in Downtown Toronto:The Rekai Centres is a fully accredited health care organization recognized as a trusted, experienced provider of long-term care services for over twenty years. Position Summary:

Supervise and manage staff in a unionized health care setting.
Perform administrative tasks such as recruitment, performance manage, staffing/scheduling, payroll submission, invoices, preparing and filing reports, Fixing Long-Term Care audits.
Manages the housekeeping, maintenance and laundry departments to achieve high standards of maintenance, cleanliness, sanitation and provide linen service in the Home in accordance with legislative requirements and within budgetary constraints.
May perform general, routine maintenance and servicing operations throughout the facility, in accordance with applicable codes and regulations and as directed by the Executive Director.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Postsecondary diploma. Two (2) years experience in managerial or supervisory capacity.
Enhanced knowledge of safety rules and procedures and legislation pertaining to housekeeping and laundry operations in the Long Term Care Sector
Enhanced knowledge of commercial cleaning and laundry equipment, wide range of tools, chemical/agents, laundry products and methods/processes
Supervises fire prevention and fire drill procedures
Ability to interact with suppliers and vendors related to housekeeping and laundry services
Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions. Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing and carpentry; ability to read and interpret manuals related to equipment and systems

Must have received at least 2 doses of a COVID19 vaccine

This position reports to the Executive Director.
