- Sound knowledge of storekeeping and inventorying methods and procedures, along with the various types of supplies, tools and equipment used in municipal construction, maintenance and garage operations.
- Sound knowledge of WHIMIS regulations governing the work performed.
- Ability to perform routine clerical and recordkeeping tasks manually and/or using software applications, along with ability to use a computer terminal, ERP software and Microsoft applications related to the work and use computer technology to make labels, track inventory and keep records of storage.
- Ability to operate a forklift truck and a mechanical lift.
- Ability to load and unload trucks and other vehicles for transporting goods and perform related manual work.
- Ability to assume higher level duties and responsibilities in the absence of a superior
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships and work well with others in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Awareness of Public Safety and Security measures in place to prevent injuries.
Qualifications
Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by experience in area of inventory management, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's Licence and an Industrial Lift Truck Operator certificate are also required.
Details
Salary: The pay range for this unionized position is $30.70 to $36.08 per hour (2024 rates)
Hours of Work: 40-hour work week (Compressed work schedule available)
