Description

The Provincial System Support Program (PSSP) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Data Analyst, reporting to the Manager, KMb, Strategy and Evaluation, with skills and experience who can support high-quality responsive, data analysis in relation to the Evaluation strategy at PSSP.

This role will require strong skill sets in quantitative and qualitative data analysis and data management.

It also requires strong communication and teamwork skills, as it will require ongoing collaboration with diverse group of individuals across multiple roles and departments at PSSP/CAMH as well as external partners and collaborator.


The primary role of the Data Analyst, Evaluation will be to support the Evaluation and Knowledge Mobilization (KMb) teams at PSSP in the collection, management, integration, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.

They will support the implementation of emerging evaluation strategies and initiatives and help monitor multiple data collection streams to ensure data quality.

In addition, they will use their knowledge of diverse analytical methods to perform a broad range of analyses and yield insightful interpretation in ways that will support evidence informed decision making, quality improvement, and academic scholarship.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Work collaboratively across the Evaluation and KMB teams to provide quantitative and qualitative analysis support to diverse evaluation projects.
  • Use professional expertise and judgement to analyze data in ways that can inform causal inferences about factors underlying observed trends as well as about changes in behaviour, performance, or experiences across time.
  • Support efforts to enhance data equity by working with the team to identify and address potential gaps in how, where, and about whom data are collected.
  • Work with teams and leaders to understand complex or competing needs for how data are to be utilized, and helps optimize reports in ways that can communicate complex information to diverse audiences including senior leaders, researchers, physicians, staff, patients, and community partners.
  • Work with teams and leaders to continually identify opportunities for optimizing the efficiency of data collection processes as well as enhancing data quality and utility.
  • Build reports and visualizations that effectively communicate facts, insights, and trends using a variety of tools including graphics and dashboards.
  • Supports earlystage implementation and ongoing monitoring of evaluation strategies including collaborating on the operationalization of evaluation data collection and management plans.
  • Works with peers and partners to proactively identify data sources that may be of relevance to or enhance the evaluation strategy.
  • Strives to ensure timely and accurate data transition across units, in accordance with data use and privacy policies.
  • Establishes protocols to ensure ongoing maintenance, analysis and continuous improvements across reporting schedules and dashboards.
  • Streamlines data collection, management, and integration processes in ways that optimize efficiency in analysis and reporting.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in a computerrelated or social sciences field and 3 years' relevant experience is required
  • Specialized training and skill development in Statistics; Data Science or Analytics acquired through extended work experience, special education and/or certification in Data Science/Analytics
  • Expertise and experience in using and recommending diverse and complex quantitative methods to analyze data, monitor program performance or track key performance indicators.
  • Fluency with at least one statistical package from among SPSS, SAS or STATA _and_ experience with qualitative software (e.g., NVIVO) are required.
  • Experience or training in working on institutionallevel equity initiatives, including using data to connect to equity as an organizational priority would be a strong asset.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the use of data collection tools that adopt an antioppressive lens or attend to equity, social justice, and discrimination would be an asset.
  • Highly organized, and conscientious with demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives while maintaining appropriate records and documentation.
  • Strong technical and analytic skills with the ability to integrate data across diverse sources, draw on a large repertoire of statistical methods, develop data extraction queries, maintain dashboards, and prepare reports.
  • Academic or applied experience with program evaluation is an asset.
  • Experience leading data analysis on institutionallevel equity initiatives in academic/public/nonprofit sectors is an asset.
  • Ability to patiently and confidently navigate challenges inherent with working with diverse stakeholders to implement earlystage data collection and management processes.
