    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    The incumbent will be part of a multidisciplinary team and act in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Royal Alexandra Hospital and AHS as a unit clerk for the patient care areas of Pre-admission Clinic, Day Surgery and Same Day Admission Units. The unit clerk will support the patient care and operational needs of all areas. Duties include but are not limited to reception, chart preparation, booking appointments, physician orders, arranging transportation and assisting with the overall efficient functioning of the department. Other clerical support includes collecting and distributing mail, entering payroll and data, preparing forms and requisitions and maintaining supplies. Varied work start times - 0530, 0545, 0730, 0800, 0900,1100.

    Description:

    As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

    Required Qualifications:

    Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

    Preference will be given to experience in Ambulatory clinic setting. Connect care experience. Combination of equivalent experience and education will be considered.
