Job Summary
Under the department foreman's supervision, the materials handler must ensure all handling work within the materials distribution center.


Main Responsibilities
Reception of Goods

  • Unloading of products;
  • Carry out the goods reception cycle (verification, counting, identification and installation).
Shipping of Merchandise

  • Loading and securing of trailers.
Order Preparation

  • Order preparation by the pallet;
  • Order preparation by the unit;
  • Packaging of pallets;
  • Refilling
Inventories and Maintenance

  • Make the cyclical counts;
  • Ensure quality control of merchandise and rotate stocks;
  • Maintenance of storage areas and work tools;
  • All other related tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications Profile

Training/Experience/Certification

  • Hold a high school diploma;
  • Hold their forklift operator's cards;
  • Have about one year of experience in a lumber yard or in outdoor warehouses;

Knowledge

  • Be skilled with computer systems;
  • Have ease with mental calculations.

Required Skills and Aptitudes

  • Dexterity, handling tools, lifting loads of 40 lb. and more;
  • Computer skills (use of a portable scan);
  • Respect for colleagues, good communication;
  • Experience in driving a forklift.

Working Conditions

  • Schedule from Monday to Friday, 3:30 p.m. to midnight;
  • Outdoor working environment and in an unheated warehouse;
  • Work standing and sitting.
