    Our Team:
    The Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) Team at Creighton Mine is an integral part of Vale's long-term operating strategy. As part of the Creighton Mine Team, you will be supporting the Mobile Dept in Planning all work required to keep Creighton's mobile equipment running safely and efficiently. Working closely with Mobile Superintendent and Supervisors, as well as other maintenance and operating departments, in identifying potential problems and repair solutions before they impact the plant.

    The Opportunity:
    We are currently seeking a Planner (Mobile Equipment) to join our Maintenance Planning and Control Team at Creighton Mine in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent position.

    As a Planner (Mobile Equipment), you will be helping to facilitate the continuous improvement of the Mobile Equipment Maintenance team's performance, through the effective use of established processes and procedures. You will be accountable for the planning of work for Creighton's Mobile Maintenance Department and may be required to provide relief supervision as needed.

    Additionally, in this position you will:

    • Work Monday to Friday, 8 hours day shift.
    • Adhere to maintenance business processes as outlined in Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) by using approved systems (SAP, Prometheus, etc.), tools, and standards.
    • Execute the "Planning" element of the process for all types of work orders - systematic and non-systematic maintenance. This includes shutdown (PMP) and external resource-related work.
    • Ensure work orders are planned with an emphasis on safety and ready to be executed prior to the required end date as determined through the notification and ensure its user statuses are properly maintained throughout the lifecycle of the work order.
    • Work within assigned budgets and escalate to management should a budget be exceeded. Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets.
    • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of the "work schedule" for completion by Required End Date.
    • Coordinate and facilitate with the Scheduler to ensure all required planning/scheduling routines are followed.
    • Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including superintendents, supervisors, other schedulers, planners, crew members, etc.
    • Relief supervisor as necessary which requires:
      • Holding the crew accountable for safe behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism.
      • Ensure planned work orders are closed with proper time confirmations completed.
      • Work within budget, guidelines, and standards.
      • Work with a crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.

    About You

    Education:

    • Grade 12 completed or GED equivalency with equivalent experience is required.
    • College diploma or university degree in a related industrial field or a university degree in a related engineering discipline is preferred.
    • The ideal candidate will have a valid Heavy Equipment trade certificate for the province of Ontario.
    • Generic Supervisor Common Core is preferred.

    Experience:

    • 3 years of experience working within SAP and the Prometheus add-on as a Planner and Scheduler.
    • 3 years of experience leading crews.
    • 3 years of experience in the trades.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Products.

    Skills:

    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
    • Written and oral communication skills.
    • Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
    • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
