Builder Production

Location: 304 Station St., Smithville, ON

Afternoon Shift:
Monday - Thursday, 3:00 pm - 1:00 am (4 shifts per week, 10 hours each)

Turkstra Trusses offers several alternating positions in an environment that thrives on making a true difference for our team members, customers, industry and community.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Knowledge and previous experience in Truss manufacturing.
Experienced in handling lumber and able to effectively check for quality and defects.
Ensures the product is manufactured to precise specifications.
Experienced in reading blueprints and interpreting them for accurate production of trusses.
Familiar with safety and cleaning protocols on production lines, machinery, and equipment.
Effectively completes machinery and equipment inspections.
Ensure all activities are recorded and logs are up to date through production software.
Uses various hand tools to perform tasks, such as measuring tapes, fastening devices, hammers, etc.

Forklift Operation:

Completes circle checks and inspections.
Effectively moves and organizes workinprogress material based on production schedule.
Able to effectively perform advanced forklift tasks in order to offload truss stacker and/or vendor trucks.

Accurately read truss prints
Lifting and handling materials
Quality control
Experience in Truss Production in one or more of the following areas considered an asset: Truss Assembly, Linear Saw Operation, Lumber Picking, Plate Picking, Saw Tailer, Component Saw Sawyer, Stacker

Requirements:

Experience in the construction industry considered an asset
Experience using construction related tools considered an asset
Able to follow instructions in a fastpaced environment
Minimum lift requirements of 66 lbs
Ability to work in all weather conditions

$17.00-$23.25 per hour
