Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning is seeking a Curriculum and Assessment Consultant (Regular/Full Time) with a focus on the Industrial Arts Program Curriculum.
The Department is responding to the K-12 Commission recommendations to ensure the Kindergarten to grade 12 (K-12) education system is structured and supported effectively to improve student outcomes and provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their full potential.

Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must possess or be eligible for a Manitoba Teacher's Certificate
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required
- Must have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
- Must have the ability to travel within Manitoba as required
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Extensive experience teaching/coordinating Industrial Arts Programs within Manitoba schools or other Canadian jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health policies and procedures.
- Experience leading diverse work groups and project teams.
- Ability to build relationships, foster collaboration, and develop partnerships between various educational stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to act with diplomacy and tact.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Excellent written communication skills with ability to create and edit various documents with a high degree of accuracy.
- Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability to make sound decisions.
Desired:
- Experience with the development of curriculum in a K12 school setting.
- Experience working with STEAM programing in a K12 school setting.
Duties:
Working as a Curriculum and Assessment Consultant in the Senior Years Technology Education Program Unit, the incumbent will lead research, consultation and development of updated Industrial Arts curriculum, as well as ongoing implementation and support the to overall work of the Unit.
The incumbent will have content expertise in Industrial Arts education in order to update and incorporate a multi-curricular STEAM approach for Manitoba's Industrial Arts curriculum in Grades 5 through 12 as part of Manitoba's new Framework for Learning.
These updates are necessary to set a future-focused tone for Industrial Arts education across the province.- Advertisement # 4065
