    Résumé du travail:

    CSA Group has an immediate opportunity for a Standards Development Project Manager, Power Generation. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will interact with industry experts, academia, researchers, and government officials to facilitate technical discussions promoting consensus to develop leading-edge standards solutions.

    The Power Generation team manages a portfolio of standards and guidelines for the nuclear sector that cover subject areas including reactor safety, reactor control systems and instrumentation, concrete containment structures, seismic design, emergency and environmental management, radioactive waste management, decommissioning, and more. Many of these standards are referenced in the operating licenses and compliance handbooks of Canadian nuclear facilities.

    This dynamic role requires a sound understanding of the various processes and procedures of CSA Group, many of which are mandated under the accreditation by the Standards Council of Canada. A key element of the Project Manager role is to ensure that these processes and procedures are adhered to, and that project timelines are achieved within the defined budget. The role emphasizes project management (attention to detail), relationship management (strong people skills), and strong communication skills.

    Responsibilities:

    As a Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of CSA's nationally accredited standards development process and activities, overseeing all aspects of assigned projects. This includes:

  • Facilitating multiple volunteer committees, technical and/or strategic from diverse backgrounds ranging from senior executives to technical level representatives in both public and private sectors, NGOs, academia, industry associations and regulatory authorities
  • Facilitating development of technical standards through volunteer committees of technical experts, including convening in-person and/or virtual meetings
  • Establishing and actively managing schedules, processes, and resource requirements (e.g., funding, personnel), costs, quality, and risk
  • Collaborating with technical committee leadership (Chair, Vice-Chair) to manage committee operations and membership
  • Developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships
  • Responsible for the oversight of an accredited process in development of national, bi-national and/or international standards
  • Liaising with internal and external partners including member organizations, internal management, editorial, production, legal and finance teams towards successful delivery of projects.
  • Participating on occasional internal task teams (e.g., business or process improvement, research).
  • Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as engineering, science, or project management. An advanced degree would be an asset.
  • Designation as a Project Management Professional, or equivalent designation/experience, would be an asset.
  • Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and/or standards development
  • Experience in the energy sector and/or knowledge of related topics (e.g., nuclear) would be an asset.
  • Experience working with volunteers and/or multi-stakeholder groups would be an asset.
  • Skills:

  • Excellent people skills: managing relationships, facilitating, and networking with people at all levels with divergent interests and backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication, including delivering presentations and writing technical documents, proposals, and business plans.
  • Excellent organization, planning skills, and attention to detail.
  • High degree of self-motivation, initiative, resilience, and adaptability.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player and build capacity of peers.
  • Creative, participative, and flexible approach to managing work assignments.
  • Strong computer skills (word processing, presentation software, spreadsheets, etc.).
