We are seeking a
Quality Control and Environment, Health and Safety Technician for our facilities
in Calmar, Alberta.

Summary:


Responsibilities:


  • Quality Control_
  • Inspect, test, and measure materials/products in production;
  • Release acceptable material from SAP system;
  • Help maintain and update the QMS in place (ISO 9001);
  • Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications and notify the Production Manager and the Quality Manager of all major defects;
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and help to analyze/correct production problems;
  • Control the facility's calibration system of measuring instruments.
  • Environment, Health and Safety_
  • Implementation of new policy;
  • Perform inspection;
  • Help maintain and update the Environment, Health and Safety management system in place (ISO 14001 & 45001);
  • Analyze the different reporting
  • Incident, near miss, safety observation & suggestion;
  • Organize the Environment, Health and Safety committee;
  • Maintain JHA uptodate;
  • Support the overall prevention activity.

Requirements:


  • Minimum 13 years' experience in a Quality Control role ideally in a manufacturing environment;
  • Understanding the different ISO standard;
  • Knowing the Alberta OHS regulation is a strong asset;
  • Ability to use various measuring instruments (tape measure, caliper, etc.);
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Knowledge of MS Office (word, Excel and Outlook);
  • Working knowledge of SAP is a strong asset;
  • Capability to work in a team environment with varied departments and diverse personalities;
  • Previous internal ISO auditing experience is a strong asset.
