Merchandise Analyst, 12-month Fixed-term Contract - Vancouver, Canada - MEC Mountain Equipment Company
Description
The Merchandise Analyst supports the merchant team within a buying group in achieving deliverables in all aspects of procuring product to better serve members and MEC. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Issue purchase orders within OpentoBuy parameters; responsible for PO creation and follow up with vendors.
- Review weekly PO status reporting, followup on outstanding PO confirmations, and late ASNs based on ship/DC dates.
- Execute PO adjustments and cancellations based on information from vendors.
- Review past cancel date POs for cancellations, reissuance/escalation.
- Review and resolve inbound PO discrepancies, and product information discrepancies.
- Responsible for gathering and inputting data; building, analyzing and maintaining reports to support merchandise decisions utilizing systems such as MMS & D36
- Create and track vendor funded markdowns and credits.
- Responsible for supporting merchants with assortment planning activities, such as product set up.
- Support merchants with merchandise event/promotional execution including but not limited to item selection templates and marketing campaign templates.
- Support the business on product recalls, entering pertinent information into the system for the business to act upon.
- Assist merchant in setting up new vendors and assist in product set up through template completion with vendor and hand off to crossfunctional merchandise operation partners.
- Assist merchant with running size sorting functions.
- Assist merchant with price and PO changes as relates to DCR and adjustments from vendors.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
- 1 year administrative professional or related experience.
- 1 year experience using basic Microsoft Office functionality, but strong Excel skills considered a key asset.
- Strong proactive and time management skills.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to priorities and manage conflicting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, and ability to work in cross functional teams.
- Experience with JDA and MMS is an asset.
