Description
As a Marketing/Video Engagement Intern at Family Solutions Group in Edmonton, AB, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our mission to Make Wellness Possible by assisting with our comprehensive communications & marketing strategy.
The Intern will assist in all marketing & communication related tasks including but not limited to maintenance & designs of our websites, paid & organic social media content, filming and editing marketing content, general coordination with partners and co-workers, and other duties as required.
Current students would be ideal for this role.Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communication:
- Collaborate with leadership to help set strategic goals for marketing and communications efforts, ensuring alignment with the organizational mission and objectives.
- Possess and maintain a thorough understanding of each FSG Agency and its distinct service areas to effectively tailor communication strategies.
Marketing Execution:
- Plan, execute, and meticulously assist in marketing efforts across the organization, optimizing strategies to reach desired outcomes.
- Assist in marketing initiatives for our agencies, driving engagement and visibility.
- Track and evaluate the success of the marketing campaign using analytical tools (using knowledge of SEO, SMO, and Google Analytics)
Filming, Editing & Online Presence Management:
- Shadow senior videographer during filming
- Edit, update, and enhance WordPress websites, ensuring they reflect the organization's brand and effectively communicate our services and values.
- Utilize various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) and select the best platform for: creating online media campaigns.
- Manage post schedule for each agency and their respective profiles.
- Design products using Adobe Creative Suite particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Canva.
Operational Assistance:
- Efficiently assist in daytoday operations for marketing & communication related tasks, ensuring seamless workflow and alignment with organizational goals.
- Establish linkages and referral partnerships within the sector.
- Verify edits and policy revision, ensure documents follow approved formats.
Collaboration and Flexibility:
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams and departments, fostering a cohesive and dynamic work environment.
- Be adaptable and versatile in taking on additional duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Secondary Education in Marketing, Communications, or other relevant education is an asset.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills are a must.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint.
- Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Functional knowledge or experience with WordPress websites, Meta ads, Meta Business Suite, MailChimp, YouTube and Google AdWords are an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, problem solve and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Possess a strong appreciation for diverse families and children, aligning with our organizational values.
- Indepth knowledge of various social media platforms and performance software to maximize outreach and engagement.
- Impeccable attention to detail, exceptional organizational and time management skills, and strong analytical capabilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of FSG's agencies' service areas and a drive to continually improve agencywide processes.
