How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:

The Park Attendant, working under the direction of the Coordinator Inventory & Audit is responsible for the customer service and maintenance of TRCA lands, trails, grounds, and gardens, They will carry out various land management tasks including, property inventory and audits, trail and trail infrastructure monitoring and maintenance, landscaping, light construction and gardening.


Major Responsibilities:

Supports the safe and effective operation of TRCA Lands & Trails by carrying out the following activities.


Key Activities:


  • Performs Trail and property data collection and mapping.
  • Performs basic landscape and grounds maintenance, utilizing various grounds and landscaping tools and equipment to conduct the work, performing safety inspections prior to usage.
  • Performs general cleaning functions, including garbage collection.
  • Greets and engages with all visitors to provide exceptional visitor experiences.
  • Performs basic building/site maintenance and light construction functions (under supervision)
  • Identifies and reports hazardous site conditions; ensures that staff and visitors do not encounter unsafe areas, materials, or equipment.
  • Assists with parking control duties as required, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Maintains knowledge of site and facility programs and programs at other facilities.
  • Provide general support duties as required.
  • Participates in daily safety meetings including tailgate meetings, hazard identification and emergency planning.

What will you need to succeed:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications)

  • Minimum pursuing a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Ontario Class G2 driver's license
Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies

  • Strong health and safety aptitude
  • Previous training in maintenance and grounds equipment/tools is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Land survey, general maintenance, land management, construction, agriculture, or commercial landscaping.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with tact and courtesy
  • Ability to manage conflicts and utilize deescalation skills to resolve conflict situations
  • Basic computer proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams
  • Required to lift or carry objects that could weigh up to 20 kg
  • Must be flexible to work all required shifts, including weekends and holidays
