.72 FTE TERM CERTAIN

The District is seeking a.72 FTE Term Certain English Language Resource Teacher.

This is an itinerant district position working out of the Henry Grube Education Centre effective immediately to June 30, 2024.

Travel will be required.

This is a position of Special Responsibility and will be filled by competition.

Services provided by this position include:
Testing students to determine their level of language proficiency

Instructing some small groups of ELL students on a weekly or bi-weekly basis

Successful experience teaching across diverse populations

Ability to collaborate in the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of programming for ELL

Familiarity with a wide variety of language learning techniques which are used to maximize student learning

Proven ability to provide an instructional program for students geared to meet their individual needs

Ability to work collaboratively with students and parents who are culturally and linguistically diverse

Ability to communicate professionally, positively, and respectfully with students, parents, staff, and community members

Willingness to work closely with instructional committees to research, plan, and implement ways to improve ELL student learning

Qualifications:

Training and/or experience in ELL

Bachelor of Education Degree

Recent Classroom Teaching Experience (minimum 5 years)

Valid BC Driver's License

The starting annual salary for this Teacher position ranges from $64,594 to $106,217, prorated to FTE. Placement on the grid is based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
