    Description

    The Quality Manager is responsible for oversight and compliance with quality requirements in the areas of food safety programs, raw material, in-process quality control, finished product evaluation, internal audits, GMPs, sanitation, pest control, and all other related quality matters.

    The role requires someone with a keen eye for detail, strong communication and collaboration skills, the ability to interpret test results against limits and standards, and the ability to lead a small team.

    Duties and Responsibilities


    Supervise process inspections and QC team, managing workload, manpower, task delegation and validationDevelop and maintain site standard quality procedures, work instructions, form-controlled documentation and training recordsLead customer complaints, nonconformance and assessment investigations and corrective actionsCommunicate with external customers for reporting, complaints, product deliveries and general QC inquiriesResponsible for ensuring that the product manufactured meets the Company's finished product quality and safety expectations, as per customer and legal requirementsCoach, train and lead the Quality Control Team to ensure Quality and Safety is maintained throughout the processPresent customer complaint analysis to senior management on a regular basis.

    Oversee Quality Retain sample managementMaintain a sound working relationship with other departments to ensure no interruption in businessEvaluate, modify, and design sanitation policies and procedures to ensure product quality and integrityCreate, maintain, and reassess written sanitation procedures that will effectively accomplish the task of always ensuring product safetyProvide guidance and leadership to develop a high-performance teamMaintain and ensure the safety of all employees through proper training and enforcement of all company policies, procedures, and processesManage performance issues, including performance appraisals, training, and corrective actionsCreate and perform internal audits of the manufacturing processes to ensure capabilities and expectations are metPerform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Proven experience with implementing the FSQA manufacturing processGreat attitude and a willingness to learn under pressureExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of people and personalitiesAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectivelyStrong PC skills, including proficiency with MS OfficeSelf-motivated and detailed-orientedStrong listening and critical thinking skillsAbility to adapt to an ever-changing environment

    Education and Experience

    Post Secondary diploma/ degree in a relevant fieldMinimum 3-5 years in a food manufacturing environmentMinimum 3 years of relevant people leadership experienceExperience writing SOPs and implementing in a manufacturing environmentGreat attention to detail with accuracy, especially regarding product specificationsMust have shift flexibility to provide support to all Team membersAbove average interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsAbove average time management and comprehension skillsThe ability to remain calm in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
