Project Manager

We have an immediate need for a Project Manager to support our Oil & Gas clients across Western Canada with position based in Edmonton, AB.

Overview:


We are looking for an experienced _
Project Manager_ who has proven ability to deliver quality projects from front end engineering development through to execution and commissioning.

The Project Manager demonstrates project management knowledge and the ability to lead technical resources on the project team while interfacing with the client and other stakeholders as appropriate.

The Project Manager will be responsible for multiple projects at various stages of execution.

Success in this role will be measured by the ability to safely execute the assigned projects, on budget/schedule, and the ability to demonstrate cost efficiency while executing wok safety with quality meeting internal governance requirements.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full project life cycle for various clients.
  • Manage multiple projects and contractors simultaneously while delivering the projects safely on time, budget, and on schedule.
  • Assume leadership for the development and execution of small to large industrial projects.
  • Lead project execution planning including development of procurement and/or contracting strategies, scopes of work, bid preparation, evaluation, and award.
  • Support the development of project cost estimates and schedules.
  • Client interface to develop functional requirements, monitor and report on project deliverables.
  • Contribute and/or oversee the creation of project documentation (including front end, detailed design, and construction package).
  • Manage a team of professionals and contractors.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines
  • Provide technical advice to others and during construction.
  • Lead project meetings between engineering, project management, operations, and client.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, through stakeholder engagement, risk register, plan, and control.
  • Work with project controls to capture all project costs accurately and provide detailed justifications for variance from approved budgets and schedule.
  • Assist program leadership with preparation of formal reporting on project status.
  • Ensure all executed projects are completed in accordance with PDS requirements, including the development of any required documentation.
  • Work closely with external contractors to manage atsite activities, emphasizing safety, quality, compliance, and cost/schedule efficiencies.
  • Lead and mentor the project team in accomplishing the projects goals, while keeping the project within budget and on schedule and ensuring the safe execution of a quality project.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Experience in an EPC environment within the downstream oil and gas sector AND brownfield sites.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues on multiple projects simultaneously and across functions within BHE
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work in a team environment and positively influence others
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interface with team members, consultants, suppliers, and customers to promote positive project outcomes
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation, conflict management, and communication of complex concepts
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic changing environment with multiple, occasionally conflicting priorities
  • Familiarity with Windows environment
  • Ability to lead small to moderate sized crossfunctional teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree
  • Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum preferred, others considered
years of progressive relevant technical and project experience

  • Registered P. Eng. License
  • PMP certification would be an asset or working towards obtaining
  • Field construction knowhow will be an asset.

Travel:

  • Moderate site visits in Canada, primarily Western Canada and occasional visits to the TENG head office
  • Onsite support will be required and onsite project scoping and/or execution support will occur.

Job Types:
Permanent, Full-time


Salary:
$125,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
