About the PositionThis role will be an important step in our expansion into Atlantic Canada. The primary focus of this role is to facilitate the execution of analytical programs for our clients.
This role requires great communication, the ability to build trust both internally and externally, and a desire to get answers for client inquiries and needs.
Specific ResponsibilitiesBelow is a list of specific responsibilities for this role but at ALS we expect our Project Managers to go above and beyond for our clients and as such, there are many other responsibilities that arise throughout the course of a project and we have identified the key ones below.
- Operate with a high attention to safety:
- Put safety first both internally (by identifying safety concerns and communicating them using our corporate safety tools) and externally (by highlighting what ALS does for our clients to support their safety programs) including complying with ALS health and safety policies and procedures.
- Execute projects:
- Coordinate medium and large sized client projects and accounts designated by the Senior Project Manager and/or the Client Services Manager.
- Coordinate client sample submissions/requests.
- Be very responsive to project requests from clients.
- Help to coordinate or prepare sample bottle requests.
- Maintain and update client account information.
- Answer incoming technical queries or forward to an appropriate ALS manager as required.
- Review client sample submission to verify requirements and seek timely clarifications when required to support the laboratory team.
- Track client projects on the LIMS system and provide status updates when requested, proactively calling to advise clients of any anticipated delays.
- Outside of routine business hours, for special projects/submissions, and for amended files, ensure timely completion and transmission of final and/or draft client reports.
- Organize data and invoicing revisions when required.
- Provide direction, information and specifics on client samples and projects to appropriate laboratory, sample management and office services staff.
- Maintain communication with laboratory staff on general lab turnaround times and relay appropriate information to clients.
- Communicate any special client requests to staff.
- Manage client accounts:
- Meet with client project managers or other project personnel as necessary in order to develop and maintain a positive customer experience.
- Provide assistance to a Senior Project Manager in managing the larger client portfolio's.
- Provide technical analytical advice to clients to assist them in meeting project or regulatory objectives.
- Deliver/participate in demonstrations and presentations, industry events, and promotional events such as conferences.
- Prepare quotations for ALS services and follow up with clients to confirm the quotation meets their requirements.
- Provide information to clients on branch services, capabilities, qualifications, turnaround times, etc., as required.
- Support other members of the Client Services team in responding to client requests.
- Support Sales and Marketing with preparation of proposals and large quotes for clients within the Project Manager's portfolio.
