The INDEKA Group at their Head Office in Oakville is looking for you to join their Imports Division as a Team Leader with great attention to detail and the opportunity for growth.

In this role, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and you will manage the day to day Import Logistical activities.


What you will do:


  • Oversea the day to day logistic that are required throughout the Supply Chain for Imports from Asia, Brazil, EU and the US.
  • Communicate with the Purchasing and Sales Team all active statuses as they relate to vessel bookings, sailings, arrivals and deliveries.
  • Prepare custom documents, commercial invoices for all US transborder shipments, outbound and inbound for our 3PL Distribution Centre.
  • Authorize Freight Forwarder, Duty, Commission and Transport Invoices.
  • Maintain the in transit time of the containers in the system.
  • Obtain shipment documents and OBL's for the customs release of containers.
  • Maintain the shipment summary accurately and ensure NAV ERP is updated with latest shipment data.
  • Ensure transport from terminal to our DC without incurring demurrage or detention charges.
  • Knowledge of negotiation of ocean freight rates and ability to monitor shipments across multiple forwarders.
  • Coordinate deliveries with our DC /FF for all LTL, LCL, FCL Air and truck shipments.

What you will require:


  • 4+ years experience in imports/logistics/customs preferred with Global logistics in particular.
  • College or University degree in Supply Chain and Logistics an asset.
  • Knowledge of duty drawback, sample destruction and HS codes preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of freight forwarders, purchase order management system.
  • Microsoft NAVISION an asset.

$50,000.00-$54,000.00 per year
