Position Summary

  • The Research Associate will work under the guidance of the Research Supervisor and will conduct research primarily, but not exclusively, on a topic of Lysosomal Storage Disorders.
  • The Research Associate will be responsible for achieving the project's objectives.
  • The Research Associate will train and supervise one or two undergraduate students taking the Research Course in Cell Biology offered by the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology.
  • The Research Associate will develop and conduct research projects and protocols in the areas delegated by the Research Supervisor, will design and develop research methods, data collection and data analysis, including the interpretation of results.
  • The Research Associate will be responsible for the quality and results of his/her own work and the work of those who oversees.
  • When required the Research Associate will assist the supervisor with the administration of the research lab, the maintenance of reagents, the purchasing of chemicals and the update of the chemical inventory as prescribed by McGill Environmental Health and Safety.
  • The Research Associate must be familiar with histology and particularly with the structure and function of the male reproduction system.
  • The Research Associate must be familiar with biochemical, histochemical and electron microscopical methods.
  • The Research Associate will write the first draft and prepare all the figures of emerging manuscripts of his/her research.

Qualifications:


  • The Research Associate must possess a solid knowledge of Cell and Tissue Biology and Biochemistry, acquired through a PhD Degree.
  • Knowledge of French and English:_ _McGill University is an Englishlanguage university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 3 on a scale of 04_.
